Getaway Day & Deuces Wild

It’s getaway day in baseball, which means early first pitches before teams travel to their weekend series destinations. Later tonight, we shift to Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals, where the Oklahoma City Thunder hold a 1-0 lead over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

We can only hope for another thrilling evening like last night—Indiana stormed back from 14 points down in the 4th quarter, and the Dodgers pulled ahead with a 3-run homer in the 6th inning to take down the Diamondbacks.  Fingers crossed!

🎯 Tonight's Pick 12 (3:10pm ET/12:10pm PT)

⚾ Philadelphia @ Colorado

The Phillies are going for a season sweep of the Rockies today, having won the first six matchups by a +24 run differential. A seven-game sweep against one opponent in a single season is nearly unheard of, but Colorado has been historically bad this year. The Rockies will need more than luck and the law of averages today; based on their starting pitcher’s stat line they’ll need a miracle performance from their bullpen to avoid the sweep.

  1. Ranger Suarez – Over/Under 5.5 strikeouts
  2. Bryce Harper – Over/Under 0.5 walks
  3. Nick Castellanos – Over/Under 0.5 RBI
  4. Alec Bohm – Over/Under 0.5 run
  5. Hunter Goodman – Over/Under 1.5 hits + runs + RBIs
  6. Kyle Farmer – Over/Under 0.5 strikeout

⚾ Cleveland @ Detroit

This weekend kicks off a four-game set between the surprise division-leading Tigers and a Cleveland team trying to close a 6-game gap. Detroit rides in with a two-game win streak, and this series will serve as a litmus test of whether they’re legit contenders. Cleveland needs the series win badly to stay in the race. For Detroit, the goal should be simple: stay on top through Memorial Day.

  1. Tanner Bibee – Over/Under 2.5 earned runs allowed
  2. José Ramírez – Over/Under 0.5 strikeout
  3. Carlos Santana – Over/Under 0.5 hit
  4. Kerry Carpenter – Over/Under 1.5 hits + runs + RBIs
  5. Riley Greene – Over/Under 1.5 hits + runs + RBIs
  6. Gleyber Torres – Over/Under 0.5 strikeout

🏆 Pick 5 Margin (8:30pm ET/5:30pm PT)

🏀 Minnesota @ Oklahoma City

Minnesota gave everything in the first half of Game 1, but couldn’t keep the Thunder down. A second-half surge from OKC turned the game into a blowout. Julius Randle had a strong first half but scored zero points in the third quarter, while Anthony Edwards was almost invisible in the fourth—zero points on one shot attempt, possibly limited by an ankle tweak earlier in the game.

To steal Game 2 on the road, Edwards needs to take over early and open up the floor for Randle and the role players. As for OKC? They just need to replicate their dominant second-half from Game 1 and stay healthy.

  1. Anthony Edwards – Points
  2. Rudy Gobert – Rebounds
  3. Jalen Williams – Points
  4. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander – Assists
  5. Chet Holmgren – Rebounds
