Another Day, Another Dollar
At this point in the season, it’s another day, another dollar—what we see on TV and on the field is just part of the story. What’s more interesting is what’s happening behind the scenes, as front offices must quickly decide whether they’re buyers or sellers at the upcoming trade deadline.
The expanded Wild Card format brings more teams into postseason contention, but it also complicates things—pushing some teams to buy when they arguably should sell. Welcome to the chaos.

- ⚾ Milwaukee Brewers @ Seattle Mariners – MLB Network
🎯 Pick'em 10 (7:15pm ET/4:15pm PT)
⚾ San Francisco @ Atlanta
This is a compelling matchup between two clubs on the bubble of contention. The Giants surprised many by hanging in the race early on, but they’ve now lost six straight. The Braves, meanwhile, stumbled out of the gate in April, clawed back into Wild Card discussions, and have since dropped to 4th place in the division.
Losing now might help each front office make smarter trade deadline moves (even if it doesn’t help job security for coaches or players).
San Francisco starts Landen Roupp, who has decent season numbers, but they’ve been trending the wrong direction over the past month (.284 opposing AVG, .721 OPS vs .263/.715 on the season). He’s also struggled on the road—posting a 4.56 ERA and allowing a .279 opponent average.
Atlanta counters with Davis Daniel, who was sharp in his lone start this season: 4 IP, 5 Ks, 2 hits, 1 earned run vs. the Cardinals on July 13.
- Rafael Devers – Over/Under 1.5 hits+runs+RBIs
- Heliot Ramos – Over/Under 0.5 runs
- Matt Chapman – Over/Under 0.5 runs
- Davis Daniel – Over/Under 5.5 hits allowed
- Ozzie Albies – Over/Under 1.5 hits+runs+RBIs
- Jurickson Profar – Over/Under 0.5 strikeouts
⚾ Milwaukee @ Seattle
While these may not be the biggest-market teams, this is the game to watch tonight.
🔥 Rookie flamethrower Jacob Misiorowski takes the mound for the 1st-place Brewers, who have won 10 in a row and surged past the Cubs in the division. Misiorowski is coming off a dominant performance—12 strikeouts, 1 earned run, and a win against the Dodgers on July 8. His only rough outing this season was a 5 ER game vs. the Mets, which still skews his road stats. In his only other road start, he gave up just 2 earned runs with 6 Ks against the Twins.
Seattle’s Logan Gilbert has been a bit unlucky this season. Despite a losing record, he averages 13 Ks per 9 innings and carries a 4.01 ERA over his last 7 starts. In that stretch, he’s 1–2, giving up just under a hit per inning. If Misiorowski silences the Mariners’ bats, Gilbert may face early pressure from a red-hot Brewers lineup looking to break through.
- Jacob Misiorowski – Over/Under 1.5 earned runs allowed
- Joey Ortiz – Over/Under 0.5 hits
- Logan Gilbert – Over/Under 1.5 earned runs allowed
- Dominic Canzone – Over/Under 0.5 hits
