I Don’t Have Apple TV+ Either

The last series before the Home Run Derby and All-Star Break kicks off today with two games on Apple TV+ (and no, we don’t have the service either—so don’t shoot the messenger 😅). From Cy Young contenders to All-Star bats, there’s plenty at stake before we get nearly a week without sports.

📺 Today's TV Games

  • Seattle Mariners @ Detroit Tigers – Apple TV+
  • Arizona Diamondbacks @ Los Angeles Angels – Apple TV+

🎯 Pick'em 10 (7:10pm ET/4:10pm PT)

⚾ Seattle @ Detroit

Seattle had a rollercoaster of a night in the Bronx—starting with a 5–0 no-hitter through seven innings, only to lose 6–5 in extras. But tonight, the focus shifts to Tarik Skubal, who’s been ridiculous. He leads MLB in nine different statistical categories and goes head-to-head with Luis Castillo.

Castillo has done a good job limiting damage recently, but he’s no longer averaging a strikeout per inning and is posting his highest walk rate since joining Seattle. This game is about Skubal, though—if he delivers, Detroit can lock in momentum going into the break.

  1. Luis Castillo – Over/Under 5.5 hits allowed
  2. Mitch Garver – Over/Under 0.5 hits
  3. Julio Rodriguez – Over/Under 1.5 hits+runs+RBIs
  4. Tarik Skubal – Over/Under 4.5 hits allowed
  5. Spencer Torkelson – Over/Under 1.5 hits+runs+RBIs
  6. Riley Greene – Over/Under 1.5 hits+runs+RBIs

⚾ Arizona @ LA Angels

This matchup is a mirror of midweek’s DBacks-Padres series. Arizona and L.A. have identical records over their last 30 games, sit 4th in their divisions, and trail the leaders by 10 games. Even the starting pitchers—Ryne Nelson and Tyler Anderson—have each racked up 33 strikeouts in their last 7 starts.

That’s where the similarities end. Nelson has been sharp, with a 2.77 ERA and only one loss during that stretch. He’s allowed just over 3.5 hits per outing. Anderson, however, is trending in the wrong direction with a 5.55 ERA and over 6.5 hits per start.

One X-factor? Ketel Marte, who owns Anderson historically with a 1.347 OPS. A win here puts Arizona within one game of .500 and could send them into the break with a winning record.

  1. Ryne Nelson – Over/Under 5.5 hits allowed
  2. Corbin Carroll – Over/Under 0.5 runs
  3. Tyler Anderson – Over/Under 5.5 hits allowed
  4. Taylor Ward – Over/Under 1.5 hits+runs+RBIs
